BIO
Raised by Welsh farmers and tamed by cows, I live under the influence of man who walked in the wild. Haunted by the allure of fox holes and joy in waves of ferns and carefree days, rolling hills and Penbiddle lanes on Welsh horse back; I am a hunter gatherer: of natural light and assimilated moments. With an appetite wet with a taste of the unknown and the smell of home, I wander a path paved by open minds and trusting eyes, guided by willing feet...and a feeling to bring you with me. From my early days squatting in abandoned houses in London, living a bohemian life on the edge, learning the arts at Central St Martins Art school; to more recent adventures photographing bakeries and chefs with their feasts of food, renovating an old Highland long house www,westerauchrawcroft.com of sad neglect - life for me has always been an exploration: volcanoes in Hawaii, the urban bustle of New York: yoga in India; a moped odyssey through Europe; scrambling through the ridges of Glencoe amongst the mists and stars; capturing a music festival at MHOR, pulling with squeegees across new canvas; dancing with cymatics and mathematical patterns pursuing new experiences pushes me on to evolve my vision, and reminding me to always carry my spirit, my camera, brushes and creative eye with humor, compassion and curiosity.
